'X Factor' Judge Confirmed

Simon Cowell has confirmed--after months of speculation--one of the judges for his upcoming singing competition show “The X Factor,” The Guardian reports. The job is going to the person who was widely expected to get it: Cheryl Cole, a singer in the group Girls Aloud and a current judge on the U.K. version of “X Factor.”It is not known yet whether Cole, who is well-known in the U.K. but less familiar to U.S. viewers, will remain with the U.K. version of the show.Said Cowell: "I'm thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat. Most importantly, this girl can spot talent."
