It's Nail-Biting Time for Robert De Niro, Kiefer Sutherland, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Steven Spielberg as They All Await Word on Whether or Not Their TV Pilots Get Picked Up

The new crop of television pilots is sparking questions such as whether "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar will return to television, with the networks just weeks away from announcing which pilots get picked up, reports EW.com's Inside TV blog.Gellar is starring in a CBS pilot called "Ringer," with the network reportedly loving Gellar but feeling less convinced about the pilot, the story says. CBS doesn't have many spaces on its schedule to work with, and its cop drama "Rookies," which is produced by Robert De Niro, is considered a frontrunner for pickup, the article notes.ABC's "Charlie's Angels" has had positive screenings and stands a strong chance of getting on the network's schedule, although NBC's "Wonder Woman" is thought to be less likely, the article notes. At Fox, "Touch" is considered a frontrunner, as it stars Kiefer Sutherland and comes from Tim Kring of "Heroes," even though there's no pilot yet, the story notes. At NBC, a U.S. version of the British hit "Prime Suspect" appears to be a strong candidate, as well as "Smash," a "Glee"-type show produced by Steven Spielberg, the piece adds.
