Fox Has Plans for Kiefer Sutherland ... But What Are They?




Buried below the headlines in Fox’s rollout of its fall 2011 programming lineup was talk about former “24” star Kiefer Sutherland coming back to the network, The Washington Post reports.Sutherland will star in the previously announced new series “Touch,” the network confirmed. But the show has not been scheduled, and production is reportedly being held up while Sutherland appears on Broadway in “That Championship Season.”Sutherland will play the father of a special needs child in “Touch.” Sutherland’s character discovers that his 11-year-old son “sees patterns and connections no one else can,” said Kevin Reilly, Fox programming chief.A script is reportedly ready for the show, which is written and created by Tim Kring (“Heroes”), with pilot production set to begin in June.
