Fox ended the night with an average rating of 4.7 in the 18-49 demo, easily outdistancing CBS (2.5 averag), ABC (2.4) and NBC (2.0). Fox also easily won total viewers, averaging 16.0 million to 11.0 million for CBS, 7.2 million for ABC and 4.2 million for NBC.Fox’s “Idol” won the 8 p.m. hour with a 6.1 average rating in the 18-49 demo, followed by CBS’s “Big Bang Theory” (3.1) and “Rules of Engagement” (2.2), with ABC’s “Wipeout” and NBC’s “Community” tied at 1.4, and CW’s “Vampire Diaries” close behind at 1.2.The 9 p.m. hour saw a tie for first between ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and NBC’s “The Office,” both averaging 3.5 in 18-49. NBC aired “Parks & Recreation” at 9:30, getting a 2.6 average. “Bones” on Fox turned in a 3.3 average for the hour, followed by “CSI” on CBS with a 2.2 and “Nikita” on CW averaging 0.8.CBS’s “The Mentalist” won 10 p.m. with a 2.6 average in 18-49, followed by ABC’s “Private Practice” at 2.3 and NBC’s “30 Rock” with a 2.1. NBC’s “Outsourced” at 10:30 p.m. drew a 1.5 average.
